Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi → Lake Nakuru National Park

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport.
Journey through the dramatic Great Rift Valley, with scenic viewpoints ideal for photography stops.

Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park by mid-morning for your first game drive. This UNESCO-protected park is a wildlife haven known for its vibrant birdlife, especially flamingos, and large populations of white and black rhinos.

Spot lions, buffaloes, baboons, and if you’re lucky, a leopard lounging in the trees.

After a picnic lunch or a hot meal at your lodge, enjoy another game drive before sunset.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation Options:

  • Luxury: Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

  • Mid-Range: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge

  • Budget: Flamingo Hill Camp

Day 2: Lake Nakuru → Lake Naivasha – Boat Ride & Crescent Island Walk

After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, only about 1.5 hours away.
This freshwater lake is a tranquil haven filled with hippos and over 350 bird species.

Enjoy a boat safari on Lake Naivasha, gliding past pods of hippos and colorful kingfishers. You might spot fish eagles swooping down for a catch — an unforgettable sight.

Next, take a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where you can stroll among giraffes, zebras, impalas, and wildebeests — no fences, just you and the wild.

Optional afternoon activity: visit Hell’s Gate National Park, Kenya’s only park where visitors can hike, cycle, and explore dramatic gorges.

Return to your lodge for dinner with views over the lake.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha → Masai Mara Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, drive through the Rift Valley to Kenya’s most celebrated park — the Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive across the sweeping plains.

This is the land of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo — as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and countless antelope species.

Between July and October, the Mara becomes the stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth.

As the sun sets, return to your camp or lodge for dinner and relaxation by the campfire.

Witness predators on the hunt, elephants grazing in the mist, and colorful birds greeting the sunrise.

After breakfast, you may choose to visit a Maasai Village, where you’ll learn about their traditions, dances, and unique way of life.

Later, bid farewell to the Mara and drive back to Nairobi, arriving by late afternoon.
