Travel north across the equator, through the rolling plains of central Kenya and into the dramatic landscapes of Samburu.

The drive takes approximately 6 hours, with scenic views of Mount Kenya along the way.
Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.

In the afternoon, set out for your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
You may encounter elephants cooling off in the water, crocodiles basking on the banks, and leopards resting in the acacia trees.

As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation under a blanket of stars.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drives in Samburu

Wake up to the songs of birds and the rustle of the bush. After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in this incredible reserve.

Your expert guide will lead you through Samburu’s various habitats — riverine forest, rocky outcrops, and open savannah — all alive with wildlife.

Spot the Samburu Special Five, as well as elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and herds of graceful oryx and gazelle.
The dry climate and sparse vegetation make animal sightings remarkably easy and photography exceptional.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the river, watching elephants and hippos cool off as birds fill the air with song.

Optional: Visit a Samburu village in the afternoon to learn about the community’s pastoral lifestyle, traditional dances, and colorful beadwork — an authentic cultural encounter.

Return to camp in time for sundowners and a relaxed dinner by the fire.
